The Head of NAM, an Ambassador Pavel Latushka and a Member of the Steering Committee, an Ambassador Vladzimir Astapenka who is also the NAM’s foreign policy officer, paid a working visit to Berlin on between 13th and 14th January 2022.

During their visit, they managed several meetings such as ones at the new Chancellor’s Office. The one with members of the German Bundestag and the German Foreign Ministry leadership.

The main subject of these discussions were focussed around finding the best ways of implementing the programme approved by the German ruling coalition to support the democratic aspirations of Belarusian society, the release of political prisoners, the use of economic tools, including financial sanctions against the regime as responsibility for mass repressions against Belarusian society and achieving the main goal of the Belarusian society – holding new elections in Belarus.

On this trip Pavel Latushka took part in the recording of the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle and gave an interview to Ost-West TV, RND Berlin and some other German media.

The NAM leaders have also met with members of the People’s Embassy of Belarus in Germany and the Belarusian association RAZAM.

Pavel Latushka and Vladzimir Astapenka were also able to visit an exhibition of the Belarusian artist Ksiusha Angelova. She creates portraits of Belarusian political prisoners who are illegally imprisoned in Belarus by the regime.
